It’s practically impossible to walk through the streets of African cities without sighting some illegally dumped refuse scenes or at least an improperly disposed wastes. This poor sanitation culture has sunk into a typical African child’s blood and has been handed down from generation to another subconsciously leaving our environments messy and unkept. This is one primary reason the streets are adequately decorated with refuse of all kinds, ranging from banana pill, biscuit wraps, yam and cassava pills, to wastes from typical African homes like nylon bags, ragged clothes, broken bottles, plastic and ceramic plates, etc.
The industrial fossil is just by the way topping this menace, scientific exploitation has also left the mother earth weak unable to fight and balance herself. The air, water, soil – all polluted with mixtures of gases and particles, the danger ensues as we live and grow with them from our childhood, our immunity is weakened. We become more susceptible to diverse ailment, we savage these with our own lives unavoidably. Food shortage knocks harder on our doors, the sagged mother earth contemplating ending soon if we do not restrain from these harmful activities.
Very soon we may wake up in near future to see the planet on the other side, if this become the case, then the question is “What is the hope for our unborn generation”.
This whole drama can come to a sudden end only if we take responsibility for how we treat the earth and every element in it. All we need is care for the air, the water, the soil, the landscapes, the biodiversity and the general ecosystem.
